Man killed while fishing in Rajarhat 

Rafiqul Islam (43), a day labourer, was found dead while fishing in the Dolar canal in Rajarhat upazila of Kurigram.

The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, son of late Akimuddin of Chetna village of the upazila.

On Wednesday afternoon, some people went to Singardaburihat Dolar canal to catch fish with a rod. When he did not return home, the family members searched for acquaintances. Unable to find anywhere, the family and locals went to search for fish in the canal at 9:30 am yesterday. At one stage of the search, the body of Rafiqul Islam was found in Dolar canal.

Rajarhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mostafizur Rahman said police visited the spot and the body was handed over as there was no objection from the family.
